At the gates of the Giudicarie: Monte Stigolo forms the watershed between the Valle di Ledro and the nearby Valle del Chiese and offers beautiful views of both.
A hike in the westernmost mountains of the Valle di Ledro, from where the view spans from the Valle del Chiese to the peaks of the Adamello with its granite walls and majestic glaciers. From Tiarno di Sopra we reach Monte Rango and begin to descend toward Malga Stigolo, a charming spot for a packed lunch on the meadows near the small artificial basin. At the bottom of the pasture of the hut, we follow the forest mule track that brings us downhill to the Lago d’Ampola area, a nature reserve and biodiversity treasure chest.

What to bring for a mountain trekking?
In your backpack (for a day hike it is usually recommended to have 25/30L) it is advisable to bring:
Wear footwear suitable for the route and season. Trail surfaces can be uneven or rough and a pair of boots will protect you from twists. A grassy slope, a rock slab or a steep trail, if wet, can become dangerous without proper footwear.
Finally... don't forget your camera! It will be useful to capture the hike and the countless breathtaking views that Garda Trentino hides around every corner. If you want to share your memories with us you can use the hashtag #GardaTrentino
